Amazon Prime dropped its dramedy Four More Shots Please! on January 25, 2019. Four More Shots Please! is the latest Indian original series to come from Amazon Prime and follows on from Mirzapur, Breathe and Inside Edge, among others. The series takes a lighter tone than some of the more gritty shows that have been released by Amazon recently. Here’s everything you need to know about the filming locations and settings of Four More Shots Please!
Where is Four More ShotS Please set?
The show is set in the south of contemporary Mumbai, India and sees the action taking place in a cosmopolitan city.
Four More Shots Please! focuses on four young Indian women – Damini (played by Sayani Gupta), Anjana Menon (Kirti Kulhari), Umang Singh (Gurbani Judge) and Siddhi Patel (Maanvi Gagroo) – and their struggles to balance work, love and life.
The series delves into the lives of these very different women with scenes set in their homes and workplaces.
One big setting in the show is the quartet’s beloved bar called Truck, where they often meet to catch up and drink.
The show has a very similar feel in its subject matter and set-up to Sex and the City.
Where is Four More Shots Please filmed?
Four More Shots Please! was announced back in 2018 by Amazon and appears to have been filmed on location in the city.
Speaking about the 10-part series, director Anu Menon told Scroll.in: “Yes, we’ve seen similar characters in shows like Friends or Sex and the City or How I Met Your Mother, but we have never seen ourselves.
“This is a story from our point of view and there’s also an inherent Indianness to it.
“For instance, the fact that many of us are different when we are with our parents and when we are outside on our own.”
Reflecting on the strength of the show, she went on to say: “The opening scene sealed the deal for me because it was just like, wow, I’ve never seen something like this on screen.
“On Indian screens, sex is done to women, you’re either objectified or it is always associated with something bad.
“But this is a show about women and their sexuality – about some who own their sexuality and some who come into their own.
Menon added: “All these women are also juggling their careers alongside their personal lives. The script had the right mix and match of all these different facets.”
The show features a mainly female cast and crew, who worked on the shoot.
Four More Shots Please! was created by Rangita Pritish Nandy and has been written by Devika Bhagat and Ishita Moitra.
There is no word yet on whether Four Shots More Please! has been renewed for a second series by Amazon Prime.
