WARNING: The following article contains spoilers from Game of Thrones season eight, episode one.
She offered a rather frosty reception and the pair did not see eye to eye throughout the episode with Sansa even taking a swipe at the Khaleesi’s dragons.
Sansa’s cold reception left Daenerys warning her lover Jon Snow (Kit Harington) that his sister needed to “respect” her Queen.
Daenerys could be seen raising her eyebrows as she warned the King in the North Sansa had to sort herself out.
There troubled relationship looks set to continue into episode two as the pair discuss Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).
In the teaser trailer Jaime Lannister (Nikola Coster-Waldau) can be seen standing in front of Daenerys.
It becomes clear that the Mother of Dragons is disheartened to learn Cersei will not honour their truce and sent the Lannister army to help.
Commenting on Jon trusting Cersei to help, she remarks: “He never should have trusted Cersei,” to which Sansa replies: “You never should have either.”
The trailer then cuts to Sansa shooting a worried look at Sansa as they sit at a table in the Great Hall.
With tensions rising between the two, it won’t be long before there’s a clash and one takes drastic action.
Could Daenerys spiral out of control and have Sansa murdered for treason?
That’s certainly not unlikely and fans have been speculating Sansa could be killed after Sophie shared a snap of herself sleeping on set.
Ahead of the season eight premiere, Sophie could be seen asleep in a shot on her Instagram account.
She captioned it: “In honour of the final season of Thrones premiering tonight …. Here’s a picture of me asleep on set.”
Fans rushed to comment on the image, with one writing: “Looks like u r dead!!”
Another added: “Sansa is gonna die,” while a third continued: “I’m not this is sleeping on set.”
“Dead already??” someone else simply asked.
Sophie is still in full costume with her blonde lock hidden under her flame-haired wig. Is this the proof that Sansa will die?
Game of Thrones continues Sunday on HBO in the US and the following day on Sky Atlantic in the UK. Fans can also catch up on NOW TV.
